By entering the competition, you are agreeing to your short story, if it is shortlisted, being published with 5 other shortlisted stories
Kaleidoscope Health and Care has the first publication rights to publish the 6 shortlisted entries, and to distil themes from across the entire set of entries. Copyright will however remain with the author throughout the process
Kaleidoscope Health and Care will disqualify applications at any point should they not adhere to these rules

Format of your application
Applications must:
- be written in English
- not exceed 3000 words (there is no minimum word limit)
- be submitted as a PDF or Word document weighing no more than 30mb
- have text double spaced and sized 12
- not feature the name of the applicant anywhere within the document or in the title of the document file - please title the document file ‘Writing the Future 2017’
- have the word count written at the end of the submission
Process
Applications:
- are limited to one per person
- must be entirely the work of the entrant
- must not have been published previously, online or in print
- must not be entered into another competition before the announcement of the shortlisted entries
- must be recieved by 23:59 on 8 August 2017
- will be read and judged anonymously
- are subject to the judges’ decision - the judges’ decision is final
